In Design workshop 2

The images in indesign are only previews, therefore when on the screen they are low res, pixilated and blurred. This is done so that the programme can run at a high speed and is easily managable. When it comes to print indesign accesses the full image. Illustrator files appear more pixelated and low res than photoshop files

This is the links pallet it shows where the files are located so that when it comes to print indesign can replace the previews with the actual images. If you delete the image in its original location then the image that in design needs to print is lost. This also happens if the file is moved, however you can go back and locate the file if this occurs.

You can edit the preview quality by going to view>display performance. You can strengthen or weaken the display performance.

The links pallet also gives all the information about the image. Because the image has been rescaled indesign also shows me the scale percentage.

alt>doulble click. You can also edit images on photoshop/illustrator whilst they are in indesign, because of the link feature the image will update any chances you make to it.
